People shelling out a lot of money for XM pieces do it for the quality and low edition size... SS might find that people are not willing to spend $500-$600 for PF's that are the same quality as they were when they cost $300. I do think SS lately has made an effort to improve QC but IMO there still not quite on the same level as XM or Prime 1.

Until they do get to that kind of level it's risky for them to keep raising prices...

Personally, I think this whole thing has been a massive experiment. Not only in terms of price (how high someone is willing pay for a mass produced statue) but also, how long a person is willing to wait!

Just think, by the time these things actually become available, the price they are will be simply average.

I'm on the Derby waiting list. I'm still not sure this means 100% I will receive my Derby. My guess is, there will be 600 made. Assuming 600 people have placed an order, why can;t GG get on a make all 600?

You won't be the only one! And it's not really even a case of not having the money, I think people will consider the price vs quality factor, and will decide that there is an imbalance.

This is becoming especially true with Sideshow. Their incessant price increases with almost every release aren't translating to better QC from them across the board.
