Paint came off of statue as I was peeling off protective wrap

So I just bought a brand new, sealed bishoujo statue and as I was taking off the protective clear wrap, the paint from the statue came right off. I couldnt believe what I was seeing lol. Like the paint is literally on the plastic wrap. How does this sort of stuff even happen? Is this common with bishoujo statues?

No and I own quite a few of the bishoujo line. It's possible it was in direct sunlight? Any pics.

Which Bishoujo was it? Maybe if it was the old Blue Batgirl one where the gold paint becomes sticky then maybe but otherwise I've never heard of that happening..

Any pics?

Things happen. I saw a Zatanna with part of the fishnet stockings melted/stuck to the thigh.

I've already repackaged it and taped it with postage to return to seller i got it from. Dont wanna open it all back up again lol.

But all i can say is, the paint that came off was on the plastic wrap. I couldnt even scratch it off. As for the statue, the area where the paint came off looks and feel like chipped paint.

Could really cold weather cause this? I'm in Nor Cal area and its starting to get really cold.

Edit: Nvm, gonna post the pics in a bit
