well you have already taken the first step and taken pictures. call SS customer service and tell them about ti and they will take it from there. you ahve the option to send it back for a replacement or a full refund. or a partial refund if you choose to keep it. and from what i can see it looks to be a simple repair. all you need to do is get some loctite 5 minute epoxy and glue it back on good as new.
thats what i would do. take the partial refund/credit and put it towards another existing PO or use it for another item you want to purchase. but thats just me . .

I agree. Looks like a simple, clean and ultimately completely concealed fix from where I'm sitting. Get what you can as a refund and make the fix.
