I think that this piece is a better Nightmare Batman than the SS Nightmare Batman.

While the main "METAL" series hasn't blown me away I have to admit that I was pleasantly suprised at how much I liked all of the dark multiverse Batmen and their backstories.

I love it, but it's been slow moving up to this point. 3 main issues and a lot of tie-ins and really, not a lot has happened.
