So I've only unboxed the base right now and I just gotta say that I underestimated where this will fit in my display area. All the paint applications look very clean. The tree trunk and rock faces have a cartoony/anime style to them. I'm surprised at how much blood there is actually. It looks very wet and quite gruesome. I especially like the mouth and teeth on the zoanoid.

You can really see it dripping here along with some of the entrails. I'd say this is a big win even without the mega smasher but if you'really a huge fan from way back I'd get the ultimate while you can.
And this thing is huge btw. Seriously. 
Sorry the quality is bad.

CS told me mine should ship today but i'll probably get it Monday now sigh....guess i can wait a few more days.....would have been nice to get it this week so i could do pics and the review this weekend though.
