Definitely give him a shot of the Dullcoat. Since you're only making two changes, I wouldn't primer him at all. The only "hard" part in this (and it's not all that hard) is unless you find a red that is very opaque you will likely need to paint the blue part white before you apply the red. Either that, or apply multiple thin coats to get a good solid coverage. Just paint black straight over the white part. Do you intend to highlight musculature?
