OK, so I'm in the middle of painting a MB and painted a part with clear red and shaded with pastels. Then I get the bright idea to lock it all in with a spritz of Dull Cote. Once it cured, I see that the clear red was (for lack of a better word) broken down by the Dull Cote and wound up in a bunch of red clumps (alligatored) with the white primer showing through.
My question is, how do I fix this without stripping off the red and Dull Cote (since the paint job is almost finished) and what can I do do prevent this in the future? Should I use clear flat brush-on, then Dull Cote?
There are a few other parts on this sculpt where I used clear color paints and I'm hoping to avoid the crackling on these remaining spots.
Thanks for the help!
