Except they do not suck.
I own 3x 1/4 pieces from HMO, and they all look 10/10 great.

I don't care about what they did in the past. I care about the statue I bought. There are many people out there who are posting here and on facebook about multiple quality control issues with this statue

As gorgeous as the piece is, and as much as I love it, there are a lot of issues. Mine was received with a torn art box, missing tassels (which they claim they are replacing for me) and two of the four cats that will not key in all the way. SDguy had one that he returned outright because his favorite portrait came with a defective hair strand.

I'd recommend you follow up and explain the issue to BBTS support but definitely do it over the phone. If at all possible, work out a way to keep the current statue until you have another delivered and then hope that you can mix the pieces to get this sorted. HMO will supposedly work with these 3rd party sellers to get replacement pieces out but I didn't feel like that would be a particularly reliable way to go.

Every statue I've seen personally or online has at least some degree of issue with that particular cat.

I have that exact issue plus the other cat exactly opposite this one's foot doesn't key in all the way on the base (though it's not as bad).
