Someone needs to stop the madness, and I'm taking a stand, not getting one till the price drops back down to the sub 1500 range, and it will eventually drop back down to that price

If that Gouken was priced 200$ I am sure he can sell 20 in a heartbeat.. and still manage to keep the Akuma

I guess it would depend on the collector. I agree that $200 would be a little too low for one of a kind sculpt.
I wouldn't buy that represenation of gouken myself, I would prefer if he looked more like this (thicker waist, ponytail, longer beard):
