Derek, I am SO sorry to hear this mate.
I know it's hard to think like this now. But your father most probably passed peacefully, with you sitting next to him. I couldn't think of any better way to go in the circumstances, with a loved one there, in my sleep.
You being there probably helped him immensely, even by him just relaxing because a familiar presence was in the room.
Make sure above all else that you both stay close as a family and give yourself time to grieve. It's easy to forget about yourself when you're looking after your siblings and mother.
Above all else, remember the good times and try not to dwell on the bad. Your dad sounded like a great guy, and I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted his family to be upset or angry at the situation.

I'm so sorry for your loss but don't feel like it's your responsibility to "be strong". He was your dad and you obviously cared for him. You have every right to let your emotions out like anyone else would. Don't keep it bottled up for some crazy "man" thing and weep over your loss and grieve but still knowing your memory of him is in your heart and he will always be with you.
