Just played through story mode of the new MK game and it was awesome, basically what I was hoping for (it brought MK back to me!). I haven't played a game continuously that long in ages, and haven't been into MK this much since the old mortal kombats (or a fighter in general - I bought MvC3 on launch but didn't even really play it). How does this transition into a thread about the Scorpion statue? Well - bring on the new statues Jerry
I am a classics guy, and I hope some day they can be made, but as has been said over in this thread the new MK game is the line Jerry had to work with in order to get the license. It has my support (me being the fan), and even though I hope one day classics outfits can be made because that is what i truely wanted (I noticed jazwares got MK2 license for new figures but figures are a whole different ball-game), I am just happy to have MK merchandise from a company who can finally do it justice.. and after playing the game, most of the updated costumes look good (and still like the original character), and the new looks hold more meaning to me now thanks to the solid story mode, and so I am looking foward to them, which is the reaction J would want I'm sure
I don't speak for everyone but I will say the only designs I really do NOT like from the new game are: Reptile (this design has just gone too far from the characters roots and the beak looks a bit ridiculous) and Mileena (she's a freak now). Then there are Shang Tsung and Kano who I like the overall look, but I just find that their costumes to be too controversial and the latest iteration rather than an updated version. I mean a couple others have changed and that is fine, i.e. sonya (her MK1 80's gym gear really is outdated - that ain't classic, just bad fassion), and there are new looks which are welcome (ok i'm going to admit for a video game Kitana is hot lol - but the girls of MK have always been some of the only female characters I like from fighters and it would be cool to see them done). As I said the rest of the characters just seem an updated costume, but still blending the classic look. Bring on the rest of them Jerry - Shao Kahn, Raiden, etc! can't wait
