DE - Same as EX but adds Metall enemy and Missile with light up also.

The definitive edition should offer you the ability to display it with and without Metall and/or the missile. I'm having a tough time deciding between the EX and the Definitive because of this. Great looking piece though

I'm not a fan of the "Battle Damage Weathering Effect", since it just looks like a little added black paint in random places, but otherwise this is amazing.

You probably can but it's going to look silly. If it's not all one big piece the Metool is probably keyed in and the missile has a lightup feature so that's going to have a plugin like Bowsers fire. So you'll see the magnet and metal plug/hole.
