yeah that size doesn't sound right if he is standing upright. unless he is crouching or bending at the knees in some sort of stance. or in some dynamic pose. then 10.5 inches would sound about right.
and yeah. pics
and shouldn't this be in the GG section if its sculpted/produced by them?

Technically it's still a DC Statue given its branded as such...
yeah 10" for 1/6 scale doesn't seem right, Hot Toys Batman is 12" tall and it's 1/6 scale... so something is up...

It's distributed by DC Direct, so it belongs here. Gentle Giant has been doing a lot of sculpting for companies like DC,Hasbro, and Diamond Select lately.
And I too have been wondering how a 1:6 scale statue of Batman in an ordinary standing pose barely measures up to be 10 inches. One of those numbers doesn't add up.

If GG is producing this statue it is really lame for them. Not very detailed and paint is pretty basic. And if it is actually 12" it is pretty cheap for that size. I see it listed for under $100.00. Maybe it is PCV?

I'm pretty sure this is 1/7 scale like the Cover Girl lineups...
Looking at that picture it looks like his head is to small for his body... IMO GG stuff has been pretty disappointing lately with their mid to low end stuff
EDIT: Although it could be the angle of the picture, will need to see more pictures before I decide... To be fair tho his pose is not to much different then most of the Covergirl poses, there all kind of boring with a few exceptions..

I'd be fine with this, I'm just surprised it's taken them this long to do it.

I'm pretty sure it's cold cast porcelain like the covergirl lineup. looks like it from the shiny surface. I think the 1/6 scale claim on the mailer was a mistake, I think it's really 1/7 scale. Plus the $99 price tag matches the covergirl price.
From what I can tell from the statues I have, scale wise for a normal size person is roughly:
1/4: = 18"
1/5: = 15"
1/6: = 12"
1/7: = 10"
1/8 = 8.5"
1/10 = 7"
1/12 = 6"
