Gene Colan/Steve Epting commission prices

Hey all,

I'm going to SDCC next week and was thinking I might pick up a classic cap (steve rogers) commission from Gene Colan and a bucky cap commission to go with it from Steve Epting.

Can anyone give me some info on the price of a full figure, pencil sketch for these two artists?

Epting is not taking commissions (says so on his blog), but will probably be taking bust shots. I'm guessing they will probably be in the $50 dollar range, or free depending on whether or not he's trying to accomodate as many people as possible, or actually trying to do more polished pieces. He stated he will be taking a list each day on his site, but that could change, so I would get in line the first day.

Colan was charging anywhere from $75-$300 depending on what you wanted a couple of years ago. You could try emailing him for specific info at his website, but it might be too late to get a reply before the con.

Gene Colon will not attending SDCC this year. He had to cancel his appearance for medical reasons. He needs to take some tests next week and his doctors have advised him not to take the trip.

Oh well, I hope he has the best of health and wish him a quick recovery.

I guess I'll have more money to spend on other original art.

Actually I though he said he just wasn't taking pre-orders, as he didn't have time to deal with it.

If anyone finds a link to where Gene Colan says he wont be attending can you post it? I looked on his site and it says he's still attending.

sorry for the mispost...I think the no commission thing was an email that a buddy of mine rec'd. Who knows, he might be taking them at the show, never hurts to ask.

Yeah I'll definitely still try, but sucks if he won't . He never does the other cons I go to... Well if not I can always find some other artist to take my money!
