I have no idea, when it was produced or who the artist is or was.
This is the model kit that everyone is telling me it is,
http://www.molehillgroup.com/flash01.htm
though every build up that I've seen of this kit is nowhere near as nice as mine is, but granted that could just be because of the builder as well. Plus the kit was vinyl and mine is solid resin (heavy as heck) and it seems to be larger than the kit itself, so it's very possible that this may have been a prototype of some sort, but in any case I love this statue.
And I got it for 50 bucks.

The only DC Direct stuff I have is The Women of DC MB'S. I always thought that DC Sculpts are a poor second to Bowen/DST Marvel stuff, not to mention a bit plastic looking. It's a shame, my favorite comis heros/Heroines are from DC.

While for the most part I'm always down with bashing DC for LACK of statues. I have to disagree with you here that ALL there statues are 2nd do Bowen/DST. Darkseid, GL vs. Sinestro, Aquaman, Superman ( Jim Lee ) and one of my all time favorites The Joker in my opinion are second to none including BD. My favorites are from DC as well, so it pretty much kills me that I own 90% all Marvel statues.

So is it true that bowen was in talks with DC while back, but DC is so anal and wants total control over everything produced it didnt work out?
So i would venture the guess DC will never ever let anyone like bowen start a mass production run of various characters in waves, unless they have total control over it.
This is at least the info i have been told at my LCS.
Any truth to these rumors?

I believe it did come from Randy... said that during the period of Licence 1 and Licence 2, Rocky went to the DC Direct offices in NYC and tried to get a licence for statues and mini busts... DC Direct wanted too much control.. or asked for too much money... and the talks broke down... I think if Rocky went back today... I think it would be a totally different matter and I think DC would be more willing to do business...

That's the Horizon Flash kit. It was never released in a vinyl version, only as a solid resin kit. It was going to part of their larger scale, solid resin series but they went under before more characters were added. We've got about 3-4 of these at the other studio (unfinished). They appear on Ebay from time to time. We've 'bronzed' one of these before for a client as well. A very cool piece.
