The biggest hurdle for this line is the price points. Cheaper to just go out and buy toys which are decent representations of the IP.

I mean the prices are nuts for the Gerwalk mode and i'm sure the Battroid mode is only gonna be more....you could get a fair amount of DX Chogokins or Yamato 1/60s for the amount of money you'd spend on those 2 lol.

I'd want Roy as well over Rick. That's why I haven't ordered yet.

Crazy expensive.

Man I have been out of the collecting game for a while. I picked up most of the cartoon/video game statues that I liked as a kid a few years ago. Mainly Thundercats, He-man, Transformers and Zelda. At that time statues were like $200 - $400 tops. The only line left that I really wanted were the Robotech Macross line but now that they are here I can not believe how ridiculously expensive this hobby has gotten. $1500 + a couple of hundred for shipping for each statue seems insane. And on top of that, these statues are getting absolutely massive in size. It took forever for me to find display cases for the smaller statues that I have, I can only imagine that for a statue this size you would most likely have to have custom cases made, and that is not cheap. I have to wonder if it is worth it to have something cool to look at but never touch. And after all this whining: I STILL WANT THESE DAMN STATUES!

A couple of questions

Now on a more specific note. I hear good things about the quality of Prime 1 but I have never bought anything from them. Does anyone have complaints about their statues or is the company as solid as I hear. In other words, are the statues worth the money or do they seem cheap and fragile once you get them in hand? And specific to the pics of the guardian mode statue, isn't the cockpit supposed to have Rick Hunters' name on it. It's been a while since I last saw the cartoon but the crazy expensive kidslogic model shows the name printed on the outside and for the price I would like to confirm that this is a representation of Rick Hunter's Plane, even though it is listed as "Officer's Veritech" on the Prime1 Website.

Since in Robotech is just re-use the animation from Macross. The character's original name is Hikaru Ichijyo, so the cartoon wouldn't have Rick's name on the cockpit.

You can tell when it is Rick/Hikaru as his flightsuit has a unique white, red and blue color scheme. Rick/Hikaru flew VF-1a, VF-1j and VF-1s. This is one is the VF-1j in the color scheme he flew as a lieutenant before Roy dies and Rick takes Roy's VF-1s. I like the VF-1s in the white, yellow and black scheme with the skull and crossbones of Roy's version.

Interesting that you mention Rick's name change. I just re-watched episode 1 and the name "R. Focker" is clearly written just below Roy's cockpit. Does this mean that his name was Roy Focker in the original series as well as the U.S. version? As far as I am concerned, this means that the pilot's name should be on his cockpit and for $1,500, I would like to see it say Rick Hunter or R. Hunter there. Just like "MAVERICK" had his call sign clearly written on his plane.
