I always use DHL. Sideshow sent out emails stating they had changed users default setting (mine being DHL). Searching on my order page i could not find an option to switch courier? so i contacted Sideshow two days before shipping, and it was too late - item posted.
Maybe DHL would have cost a ton more to ship, as FedEx was around $170.00
As for smuggling. I wonder how many collectors have had their statues drilled into or busted open?
I guess if it was a piece being 'returned' from Mexico to the US, probability increases.

I got a similar delay with UPS. It ended up pushing my delivery date back by 4 days when compared against the original delivery date. Hopefully it only delays yours by a few days too.

Having Googled FedEx COMPTON, CA, there appears to be a problem there, as many have been reporting delays as far back as 5 days ago. Possibly parcel overload? ..or weather? who knows?
