Garden Comic State Fest Is Proud to announce our 1st two guests for our show on Saturday August 23rd at the Hyatt Morristown, Bob Wiacek and Neil Vokes.

Bob Wiacek:

Bob has been active since the 1970s. He was a member of a group of comic book inkers known as the Crusty Bunkers. This group of comic book professional were based around Continuity Studios, a jointly run art and illustration studio that was notable for the expansion of graphic novels into genres not usually associated with comic books. After a brief exposure to Superman (inking over Curt Swan's pencils) he moved on to regular employment with DC. In 1978 he began his long time association with Marvel and has worked on notable franchises such as X-Men, Star Wars and She-Hulk. He has expanded his work to other companies over the years, including working for Dark Horse and Valiant.

Neil Vokes:

Neil got his start drawing comics 25 years ago in the early days of Comico, one of the leading independent publishers of the 1980s. He worked with his inking partner Rich Rankin on the Japanese cartoon-based Robotech Masters. That series led to the self-published Eagle from the Vokes-Rankin team under their Crystal Comics imprint.
Since then, Vokes has gone on to work from a variety of publishers drawing many of the superhero and pop culture icons. His pencils have graced titles including Superman Adventures, Tarzan the Warrior, Life, the Universe and Everything, Adventures Of The Mask, Untold Tales Of Spider-Man, Congorilla, Ninjak, Jurassic Park:Raptor Attack, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Parliament Of Justice, The Black Forest, and The Wicked West.

GSCF is proud to announce our next guest for our upcoming Aug 23rd show. GSCF Welcomes a legend in comic history Herb Trimpe.
After attending the School of Visual Arts in New York City. There his instructor and longtime comics artist Tom Gill (Lone Ranger) needed a student to ink his backgrounds. In the 1980’s Herb worked with Larry Hama to bring GI Joe back and introduced us for the 1st time to Cobra. Other titles to his credit were Transformers, Godzilla, GI Joe Special Missions, Shogun Warriors, The Defenders, Fantastic Four Unlimited to name a few throughout Herb’s 30 year career at Marvel.
