NYCC?
How is this show compared to SDCC? Someone told me a couple years back that they oversold the venue and stopped letting people in at some point until some people came out. Any truth to that?

that was the first show few years back. it was more then they expected. They only had a room that could hold like 10k people and like 50k showed up that show.
Since they they have booked the whole davits center and it gets better each year with letting people in. Long as you order a ticket in adv and get it in the mail you don't need to wait on a 10 hour line. you can get in fairly fast by afternoon time or just get there early to get in.
never been to SDCC so can't say whats better or how it compares will leave that up to others who been to both.

Get in by afternoon? So if you have a badge you can't just walk in and out freely?

Depends what you mean by freely. There's lines going in and out (not really the out but kind of). But at least this last year I don't think there was any time they couldn't let folks in due to crowd size.
Plus when going in or out if it's like this past one you'll have to scan your badge as you go in and out.

well i had the pro pass so i was able to walk into the main doors asap, but near the end of the day didn't matter they just let people in any door long as you had a pass.
Mornings is where the line is around the block and is nuts.

It's my alternative to SDCC (large crowds and FUBAR ticket system), but the attendance is growing each year that eventually I'll need an alternative to NYCC.

I was approved for the Pro Badge today, so I'll be there again this year.

I went Friday and Saturday last year - took me no longer than 5 minutes either day to get in. Even Saturday when I showed up at 2pm

I think the last day for Pro badges is Sept. 5.
