I'm not sure about glowing. But I think a shimmer effect may be possible. Just something a bit more realistic than what we received here. when I have some free time I'm going to look online for pieces with sabers coming close to what I'm picturing in my mind.

IMO, a non-functioning saber should just be a translucent color tube, with a solid white core inside it.

That's actually a really great idea. Has it been done?

Oooooo...that's where we diverge. No taper or point for me.

The problem with painting a tubular object with lighting/shadow/effects is it will only look correct from one specific angle.

I'm full of those.
But I don't own a company, and they haven't called me. I've never seen something like it, no.
I haven't lit up my Mace yet, but at first glance, I'm not a fan of the somewhat opaque plastic SS used for both him and Obi-wan. I think it just creates a solid color, rather than the white core that sabers have. Their prior sabers used mini CFLs, which produced the best effect. Their downside was the little unlit bit at the end.
What do you think of the saber light-up on this, chronralda?

This went from 'pre-order' to 'in stock' yesterday, so I pulled the trigger.
Decided to go ahead, even after seeing the 'Tariff Impact Fee' of $43.50. Hopefully it's the first, and last, I pay.
For years, I only had Maul. Finally adding more SW characters I've wanted.

I do, I do. Hard to set aside funds for shelving when there are statues to be had!

Love this PF. Find myself looking at it often and just letting the imagination wander about Kenobi and his time on Tatooine (best to ignore that Kenobi series IMO). I usually pack away pieces of a statue that I don't use but in this case I padded a small box to store the unused head sculpt so I can easily go back and forth between the two portraits every few weeks. Both are phenomenal.

I never loved Kenobi, but I definitely prefer McGregor in the role, so I'll be using that head.
Yeah, the series sucked, but it has some cool moments. I have two different fan edits which are my preferred viewing going forward. One I've yet to watch. They really salvaged it.
I wanted a blue saber wielder in my collection, and you can't get any better than Kenobi. I can cut this some slack since it's Mythos, but the lit saber is kind of contrary to his mission on Tatooine. For it to be ignited, he better be damn sure no one sees him. Kind of conspicuous.

The whole concept requires some imagination. If it's the older Kenobi, why is he going on such a long trek and carrying so much stuff (including 2 additional sabers)? I have the sixth scale Sideshow mythos figure and I actually prefer to display him without the backpack. Here I suppose I could ditch it too, and try using the hood on his head for something unique. I've not seen anyone try to display this without backpack and with the hood up.
