Not just that I think. To be fair Chronicle?s quality control was never near of that of ECC?s. It?s an entirely different ballpark. These are gonna be pieces that holds a (quite high) 70-80% chance you wont have to repaint.

You do know several JP pieces were actually made by ECC for Chronicle right?

No, they were made under the umbrella of Toynami. They were using some of the same factories too, but with not as skilled personnel as CC quite understandingly made efforts to keep prices down. ECC had nothing to do with them until now.

ECC is a Toynami company. Some Chronicle pieces were made at ECC/Toynami factories using the same workers as a regular ECC piece(Like the 1/5 rex). Some were not(Breakout rex for example)
