Watched two of the most pointless sequels recently

Independence Day 2 5/10- Realty didn't see the point in it. Same characters and pretty much same story as the first. Some massive plot holes as well

Se up for a sequel which could be interesting but doubt it

Jason Bourne 5/10. Again really didn't see the point. Loved the first 3 and Legacy wasn't too bad but really didn't feel the need for another one and the story just wasn't there and really didn't add anything to the series

I haven't seen the new Independence Day and likely never will. Just looks awful and let's face it, the original wasn't anything special either and certainly never justified having a sequel produced.

Totally agree on Jason Bourne. Added nothing to the overall narrative, totally forgettable, pales in comparison to all of it's predecessors and the very definition of a studio cash grab.

John Wick 2 - 8/10

Thought this sequel was quite entertaining. Ton of cool kill shots like the original and Ian McShane adds so much gravitas to the ensemble.

Great film and it had a solid theme and take from beginning to end.

It was nice to see that the additional violence and swearing garnered by the R rating was simply a collateral benefit of the adult character drama a rating of this nature affords.

Call me a push-over as a woman who has been hoping for a great X-franchise film, but this movie was everything for me. Sure, maybe some holes, but I loved this movie.

Was it as great as a few other comic themed movies, perhaps not. But I was touched and choked up at least 3 times. And that says a lot! I thought that Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were wonderful. The new character could not have been more perfect. The actress was great.

Big thanks to the Deadpool crew for making this movie possible. It's what all Wolverine and X-Men fans deserve.

I do think Marvel should get the reigns now.

Kong Skull Island - Solid entertainment. Still not a patch on Jackson's 2005 , but it's not supposed to compete I imagine as they are two very different films tonally. Still a great film, and the CGI left me very impressed, as I was worried from early trailers. 7/10

Julieta (2016) - After a casual encounter, a brokenhearted woman decides to confront her life and the most important events about her stranded daughter.

It ended a little abruptly without a big enough payoff, but still a pleasant addition to Pedro Almodóvar's filmography. 7/10
