Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020) - Chicago, 1927. A recording session. Tensions rise between Ma Rainey, her ambitious horn player and the white management determined to control the uncontrollable "Mother of the Blues". Based on Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson's play.
It's quite clear that this is adapted from a play with its long stretches of dialogue (and monologues) and limited setting. As Chadwick Boseman's final film, he went out on a high note. 8/10

That was the best scene in the movie.

I was so disappointed in WW 84 that I needed to see something else and hadn’t watched the Harley Quinn movie. I really liked it as a fun, amusing and entertaining experience.

WW84 6/10
Gadot’s hotness gives it an extra point, otherwise 5/10. Like I suspected, it wasn’t Last Jedi bad (tragic and sad) but there was just nothing to it. Hopefully this is Jenkin’s stinky turd movie. Every director has at least one.

American Factory (2019) - In post-industrial Ohio, a Chinese billionaire opens a factory in an abandoned General Motors plant, hiring two thousand Americans. Early days of hope and optimism give way to setbacks as high-tech China clashes with working-class America.
For a movie that won the Academy Award this year for best documentary feature, I expected the resolution to be a little more positive than, "Chinese factory in Ohio finally makes a profit." Many of the American workers profiled still weren't happy if they weren't outright fired for supporting unions or replaced by robots. It was unexpectedly bittersweet. 7/10

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) - Rewind to the 1980s as Wonder Woman's next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.
This may be a higher score than it deserves, but like others here, I do still enjoy Gal Gadot in the titular role. 4/10

X-Men: Dark Phoenix - 1/10
Finally got around to watching this... Dumb, dull and yet another terrible take on the classic DP story.
