Lolita (1962) 8/10
I can't belive i am about to say this about a Kubrick film, Protector but Adrian Lyne film was superior...
Sue Lyon was so pretty and a good actress, and James Mason was fine as Humbert... but it was so ambiguious if there was a reletation ship between Lolita and Humbert until the end... i didn't like that very much. Peter Sellers performance as an comady actor was super, 1962 version was comedy heavy compared to 1997 version, and it took from the drama some but i really enjoyed Peter Sellers performance... But 1997 made me think alot more, if you ask me... About the innocence of childhood, wild obsetion, father complex, revenge... but Never the less 1962 version was a Kubrick Film so it was fine as well.
Adrian Lyne film was so much more moving though... very drama heavy. It was really special. Effected me deeply...
