I think the pose is great just a pity it's not 1/4 scale or 1/2. I'd seriously consider this in LSF. But at 1/5 scale I'll be passing.

It's not 1:4 scale or 1:2 scale, it will be 1:5 scale, I think it puts it at 22" tall total with base. So no way will it be $2,000.
There was no vote on pose, that was just showing some of the options we came up with in 3D prior to choosing a direction, all internal.
Like it or hate it, it's what we went with for this piece. We'll probably more than likely do more Alien pieces in the future, so some of those poses we can consider for those possible candidates.
Good find Python

I just watched the Zbrush video earlier this morning. It was very informative and I appreciate you all taking the time out of your busy schedules to shed input and light on digital sculpting.

I actually think all the poses are pretty nice. My least favorite would be 6...but they are all pretty interesting. I find myself really drawn to the crouching Alien the more I look at it. If I had to go with one, it would be 3 though. That is my favorite.

Yeah, I really like three, but the fact so many people have favored different poses just goes to show how you can never please everybody. I think it is sometimes hard to picture things properly in an early concept anyway, I suspect the chosen pose will look really good once sculpted. I don't generally buy into the scale, but I can picture a Giger themed shelf with a few of these on... And this makes me happy.

By and large, SS has done a pretty splendid job on the Alien license. It's the Predator license that has issues. The first Predator was awesome, but nothing after that has floored me.
I know Predators are probably the hardest and most complex paint apps to pull off, so I can kind of understand why.

At 1/5 scale, this will still be pretty big.

Not feeling the pose at all, to be honest. Arms might work, but the tail like that is just non-xenomorphic, too much ballerina. Reminds me of Jack Skellington.
And with current pricings, 1:5 scale on an Alien piece means this will just be too expensive to be taken into consideration. Even if Sideshow always did a great job on 1:4 maquettes, I think their smaller scale aliens so far are absolutely negligible.
Too bad because I feel that poses 3 and 4, with a nice diorama base, would have made for a nice design overall. But still, the first Alien movie and the Big Chap are not about big aggressive monsters (like Aliens & the Warriors). The Big Chap is more of a creepy and sneaky beast, almost all poses are too aggressive looking.
