These are some examples of what may be considered established worthy causes. Maybe Capcom could help out a bit with some exposure. You would probably find many game related media sites willing to help advertise like Ars Technica.
Whatever charity you would chose could be a great way to turn something made with your own hands into a labor of love that could help do good work for a lot of people.
