Yeah, I get the chair would make it a statue, I'm just wondering if there could have been more of a transition into the partial chair instead of just a sharp cut off maybe? It just looks like an old school jpeg that partially loaded on dial-up, with the straight line cut off. It has a bit of a feel of being unfinished like that. I realize it's likely a compromise, to make it a bust, it's just kinda "off" looking to me. That's all. Still a great torso. Maybe it's because it has the actual base part under the chair, that gives it an illusion of hovering but as a partial chair that makes it odd to me. Maybe if it had actually had the chair on the "ground" it wouldn't have looked as funky. Just some friendly feedback, not trashing the sculpt.
There's an older bust of him wearing Cerebro, and they made the base have little wisps of psi-energy around him. Maybe something like that could have bridged the gap (literally and figuratively) to make the base more cohesive without turning it into a full statue.
