Check out Bullitt. IMO one of Steve McQueens best.

Heh, interesting.

Oh yeah, I can't believe I haven't seen that yet...supposed to have one of the best chase scenes ever (in San Fran right?)

The Harder They Fall (2021) - When an outlaw discovers his enemy is being released from prison, he reunites his gang to seek revenge.

The cast is better than the movie, but this hip-hop western is still pretty good. 7/10

The Power of the Dog (2021) - Charismatic rancher Phil Burbank inspires fear and awe in those around him. When his brother brings home a new wife and her son, Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.

After watching The Harder They Fall, this is a very different kind of western--much quieter and closer in style to Brokeback Mountain. 9/10

Ready Player One (2018) - When the creator of a virtual reality called the OASIS dies, he makes a posthumous challenge to all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune and control of his world.

As someone who hasn't played any video games since the Atari 2600, I had not interest at all in the premise. However, I did like the constant classic pop culture references so it's a wash. 5/10

Nightmare Alley (2021) - An ambitious carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is.

Not Guillermo del Toro's best movie, but still pretty good. (I've never seen a bad Guillermo del Toro movie.) There is also a black and white version which I imagine looks very cool--like an old film noir airing late at night on Turner Classic Movies. I'd like to see how it compares to the 1947 version. 8/10

Crazy Rich Asians

Super fun cast. Has a great blend of comedy, drama, and romance. Constance Wu, Henry Golding, and Gemma Chan (Marry me) deserves to be big stars. Michelle Yeoh is a legend. Awkwafina was funny. Being half Korean, it was so dope seeing this rom com just full of Asian people. Kind of loved this movie.

Also a beautiful cover of Coldplay's Yellow that went with the scene it was in perfectly.
