Based on what I can find on the Internet, it appears that the "Motion" statues aren't very good. They either barely move or break easily.

The Minis don't have much detail (which is to be expected give their size).

I know some vocal forum members have bashed these, but judging by the amount of statues that DC released in a span of 4-5 years, it seems that there was a market for them. There were more Regular Ame-Comi statues than Superman: Man of Steel or Wonder Woman: Art of War statues.

Thanks Gothamite.

I got Big Barda today on an impulse and I really like it. Looking at the images what strikes me is how feels like have several different artists or styles within the line. This is in contrast to what I am use with the uniformity of Bishoujo or Bombshells.

Of those I see style wise there is a Arisia, Wonder Girl, and a Hawk Girl I like so will do some hunting around. Jesse Quick, one of the Wonder Woman, Power Girl, one of the Supergirl and Raven are all maybes.

I think DC started with Udon Studios and Paitoon Ratanasirintrawoot (aka Paitoon Ratan) before shifting to artwork created by the people working on the comics. They also got Dustin Nguyen involved.

Post a pic of Big Barda next to your bishoujo Power Girl.

Ame-Comi and Bishoujo

Bombshells, Ame-Comi and Bishoujo

I really like the piece from a design perspective she fits fine next to similar size statues. The material and paint may put some off, but given these seem to be cheaper (least what I have found) it makes sense. They do have some moving joints, but I see no need to ever adjust it.

Finally have a Big Barda, now waiting on other lines so she has some sister statues.

It is nice being able to find statues of certain characters. I think this line is the only one with Arisia, Star Sapphire, and Steel in the 1/8, 1/7, 1/6 scales. This was true of some other characters for a few years as well until Bombshells and Tweeterhead came along.

DC sure loves flogging the Gotham Sirens in holiday colors, lol.
