I didn't have a good vibe when I saw the photos....now after watching the trailer I have even less optimism. What's with the comic hijinks? I've read every Hellboy comic all of the books by Golden, watched the movies and cartoons...Hellboy is funny at times, it's usually subtle and well suited for the situation but he's not a clown like Deadpool.
They really screwed the pooch by not finishing the original trilogy del Toro had planned with the real deal Pearlman Hellboy.

It's too well lit & cheery looking. Hellboy's a character that should be enveloped in candle, fire & torch light. This just looks "zany".

Trailer doesn't look promising.
I'm not crazy bout his look either. I liked Pearlman's make-up much more.

I kept on expecting to hear his voice.

Need to see more but this is disappointing to say the least and doesn’t inspire a shred of confidence.

When I saw the original design and heard they were taking it to a darker level...I assumed it would be more gothic horror like the comics and less like a popcorn summer campy film which is the vibe I'm getting from the trailer. Mignola should have done the right thing and let Del Toro finish strong with the third movie in the trilogy. What's worse is it looks to be no different than any run of the mill Syfy original film. You can't follow two great Hellboy films with this. Uggggh.

I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet (even though it’s not looking great). Sometimes good movies follow bad trailers. If worse comes to worse, maybe we’ll get a cool statue out of it.

This is starting to remind me of the time they changed Godzilla into a giant lizard running around N.Y.
Real Godzilla > lizard Dude
Del Toro/Pearlman > whatever this is
