Hugh Jackman Apparently Stepping Away from Wolverine Role

The next Wolverine film is apparently his last as the claw bearing mutant.

About time. Don't get me wrong; the guy has been good at it, but it is time for new blood. The franchise needs a revamp anyway.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Sad news. The child side of me is depressed. Whoever dares step into that role, got big shoes to fill. Jackman and RDJ are the characters they play. Whatever future role....Hey thats the guy

Yeah, he played the character to a "T". Just like many think of Chris Reeve as Superman, Jackman is Logan.

It's hard to tell if Jackman has meant more to the X-Men franchise or if his career owes more to their success. It's been that strong a relationship, and it will be the end of an era when he finally sheaths his Adamantium claws.

Talk about a tough act to follow. The only way Jackman could've played Wolverine more definitively would've required him to be 5'3".

I'll believe it when I see it. He's already stated a couple times that he was 'done' with the character after 'x' movie

Wonder if Dougray Scott is available and in good shape? He was originally slated to play Wolverine but passed up the part for Mission Impossible

I think they will go younger and shorter in the recast. Jackman will be a tough act to follow, he redefined the character in the movieverse so it's also possible they will go with another 6' handsome actor. I would prefer to see something a little closer to the comic.
