just got Action Comics # 1000 Jim Lee and Michael Allred covers. this is my first single issue buy after 10 years. I'm just back for the 1000th issue though, i don't plan to get any other single issues other than Detective Comics 1000 or any DC, Marvel Super hero 1000th issue. Man, AC 1000s costed me...i paid 16 dolar shipping for just two single issues and they are 8 dolars each... But still worth it.

This is such a land mark, 1000th issue, wow, congrats DC.

I ended up going with the Steve Rude cover. I've always liked how he draws the DC stuff. The book was just o-k for me. No real stand-out stories except, imo, Geoff Johns & R. Donner's The Car, which I really liked & the Bendis' close-out story which set up his arc, although it did seem a bit familiar to me. What did you all think of issue 1000?

I enjoyed the issue. A nice reminder of the importance of Superman, and that’s always a plus to me.

There was a signing here in Sydney by Nicola Scott and Annette Kwong of their variant cover, which I got signed:

Thanks, protector!

As for my fave of #1000, it was probably the Tom King story (of Superman visiting Earth in the future.) I also liked that the issue talked a lot about people, the people of Earth, as well as Superman. What people are capable of themselves.

I also liked this by Jorge Jimenez:

I wish they had made a Chiristopher Reeve cover... I would be all over that.

I like the foam Gal Gadot lurking over the artists.

I like Steve Rude's cover. With Supes it's usually Jesus imagery - here's a bit of Samson thrown into the mix!
