I get this crap too and it really pisses me off!! Man, If I could track the originator of these I would round up a posse headed by Sam and lay a beat down on someone. Really gets me going when someone tries to steal

I get emails all the time from both paypal and ebay asking about account verication, and they always have some sort of threat attached to them, I never respond. Sometimes I check my account through my ebay page, and confirm that it's all spam, but they people all excited and they try to act, just makes things worse in the end....

yeah, they make them look so real that I often do check my account to make sure everything looks OK ... I must admit that since eBay has added the online messages it is easier to spot phishers

Yeah, I complain all the time about how much ebay changes and how often, but truth is, it is really a necessary evil in order to maintain security, and I am all about the security.....

Everytime I get one, I forward it to spoof@eBay.com and let them investigate

Dunno, I haven't even got enough savvy to guess HOW they would investigate...I just feel better knowing I've reported it...
Of course, lately I've been thinking I should report these emails BEFORE I answer them with my credit card and social security numbers...
