What do you mean by "dreaded Legacy Effects"?

Check IMDB. Legacy Effects did special effects for The Mandalorian. Why are they considered "dreaded" when they made the actual effects for the series? Maybe you are thinking of a different effects shop?

Snagged one as well, love the fact that he has the shifter knob in his hand!

Used to crash a lot in the earlier days, but that's when pieces would actually sell out quick.

I was inferring that when these two companies combine, the production piece rarely ever comes out even close to the prototype. Most of the Sideshow Iron Man Maquettes come under this situation.

The problem is that the prototype is so very impressive, that the production piece is ‘usually’ very very lacklustre in comparison.

Prior to the Mark 3 Maquette coming out, everyone was crossing their fingers that it would come out okay, due to their prior record. Even the Mark 3 took a somewhat noticeable drop (still a solid piece), but then again we were lucky it wasn’t worse (which has happened on more than a couple of occasions).

But this thing looks so good, and is so cheap I’ll probably place my preorder as soon as I can.

I don't think it's cheap, it's 350$ for basically a doll with a sculpted head I think... The proto looks exquisite though and while I enjoyed the Mandalorian I'm not that big of a star wars fan yet I'm still considering PO'ing one...

Well you can preorder up to 100 lol. I think the ES will be huuuge. $350 is cheap giving how much statue cost these days.

I preordered this locally over at Popcultcha, but it’s a bit pricier than usual. Conversion is below /0.60 and this has got to be the first time I’ve both seen a piece go up so fast for preorder and for them to not offer the usual early 10% preorder discount. But I guess they know what they’re doing, as the demand for this will be pretty high.
