Hi mate, thanks glad u like it. He is based in the UK and does commission work. His paintwork is awesome especially scratch build work and Sci Fi Star Wars etc. I am hoping that he will add an element to the 1/5 scale T Rex paintwork when it arrives. That is the final grail piece for me ref JP!!! I think up close in person, the paintwork will be even better as it always is, the camera never quite captures it. If you want your stand alone 05 modified and upgraded to make it more bespoke and tailored to your liking and you are in the UK mate, then I am sure I can get it sorted for you. Might mean posting it if this is the case which is a risk. My model maker was quite close to me and he collected the pieces from me and will be dropping them off to set them up this week and he will set up the foliage into position then and add some final tweak touches. The paint and other small details really can set these standard issue pieces into something quite special. As this diorama is so big, and the fact that my partner doesn't know about the 1/5 T Rex to come, I may sadly end up having to sell this set. Think she will only tolerate so many models being purchased and put onto display in the home :-(

Thanks bud! I’m still awaiting the outcome of my claim with FedEx but I’ll get back to you. FedEx are wanting to ship my Explorer 05 back to Memphis without really saying what they plan to do for me. I’d rather just a bit of money back for the damage from them. Iron Studios kind of washed their hands of it.

Yes mate, I got I think around £150 for the damage which is not a lot. Ok it cost me more to get it fixed but its a pro job if I don't attempt it myself and then the model maker has blended in additional paint effects to make it really special. May as well go for it to make it the best display piece possible. Always a risk with the post, more chance of damage in my experience. Best of luck mate if u need a fix solution then you know just to give me a quick message. Cheers.

Added airbrush work
Couple more shots without the flash but not ideal to show all the fine details close up of the T Rex. My model guy added loads of subtle fine shades and details with airbrush work including some spotting effects and the mouth with some nice flesh colour tone touches for added effect. Looks really great to the eye and no longer a bland paint finish closer to the original. Bushes and grass added for effect.

yup try this and another shot of the head with flash to show the subtle spot and tones in the flesh etc. just lifts the look a bit to the eye after all the t rex is the centre piece may as well make it look the best possible. So the cup is for scale. its a big piece!! Needs the room to make it display well.

Incredible. You nailed that wet mud look, it looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing the rest!
I had my damaged 05 Explorer replaced by Iron Studios last week with an 04 instead. Really pleased with it, my only gripe being the door that opens just not closing properly. Anyone else had this issue? My (damaged) 05's door closed okay but this new 04 just seems like the door is the wrong shape.
Anyway, here's some comparison shots for anyone interested
