Is it Bowen or nothing for fans of that scale?
P.S. It's a shame the mini-busts trend has all but disappeared. Those were fun.

I think it's all about price. In Bowen's heyday 1/4 was more scarce. As the scale became more ubiquitous people were willing to pay a bit more. Now it's at the other end. If you're already wasting $500 for 1/4 scale $300+ for 1/6 isn't very appealing.
If what Igo over in the Sideshow forum says is true and long term buyers make a very small perceentage of sales then many people are just a few and done and don't mind spending more on those.
1/6 is great for the prolific collector.
If Bowen or any other company could sell enough 1/6 to make them an average of $180-$240 again I totally believe 1/6 would take off IF someone was actually making collections and not just 2-3 per year. Nobody wants to pay collector's market prices to get a collection going.
I hated the busts. Not because they weren't well done but I don't like missing the lower half of a statue. A bunch of busts display like knick knacks.
