I don't even have to do all that ... I just painted the kit with Createx Pearl Black, then slowly layered Tamaya Clear Blue over the black.

It's a really cool effect, because the costume only shimmers blue where light hits it, otherwise it just looks black. I didn't want to paint fixed shadows, because my goal is to display this one a turntable, and I really wanted the shimmer to play with the light.

That's the off white undercoat, it will get a pure white drybrush over that color, and then dabs/streaks of pearl white over that.

oops so I guess i like something that you wont be doing, LOL
I guess I like it because if she was really a burgler there is no way it would ever be so cleanly white, but I hear what u are saying.

It would probably work with other color combinations too ... now that I've figured this out, I'm going to start experimenting with it on other pieces.
