Kind of. The comic is much, much darker. The common ground between the two is in the basics. Sabrina's 18the B-day & what that means, the 2 aunts, Madam Satan & her involvement in Sabrina's high-school life, satanic worship, & her parents being dead, the hanging tree, covens, rules, coming back from the dead "changed" etc...
That being said, the book really celebrates the horror of being a teenaged witch. Harvey really becomes a focal point for the horror. There's no secret "Harry Potter-esque" secret witch high-school. It takes place in the 60's. Riverdale & a few members of Archie's gang become involved, etc...
The book is really great & has gone 8 issues. Try & find them or buy the trade. You won't be sorry.
