Funny how he called the Todd McFarlane portrait "classic". Damn I'm getting old. The regular portrait is more classic style to me.

Heh heh, it 'shocked' me to hear that, too, but then I took it as either:

a - he considered a one-eye squinting Spidey Ã- la Deadpool more of a modern thing

b - the guy simply doesn't know his Spidey

A few observations.

1. After owning the IS and XM I’m tired of over sized Doc Oc tentacles but credit to SS, they sized them the best out of the 3. But sideshow just make a proper Doc Oc! Yikes!

2. The expression mask is a very comicy thing. I like it more than the Ex head.

3. The base is a well sculpted big grey glob lol.

4. In the video from 2:36-2:39 it looks like Spidey is figure skating lol.

5. The art box is cool.

6. All the little details...the lines in the blue, the piping along the edges of the red, the texture of the blue...are really cool details and I wish they stood out more. Too subtle for me.

7. I don’t like lights on statues and I think they’re unnecessary for Doc Oc but they are pretty cool here and well executed as far as turning them off and on.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves, I hate it when they make his tentacles look like giant air conditioning ducts.

Prime 1 have made the best Doctor Octopus tentacles so far it's just a shame they have Brianiac attached to them.

The neck seem is quite noticeable. Overall is a nice statue.

Lol facts on all accounts. Giant air conditioning ducts is a good comparison. I don’t think the statue companies are really thinking about the fact those things are attached to someone’s back.

I was like who’s this weird guy wearing Doctor Octopus’ tentacles? Lol. But those are the size his tentacles should be. I’ve seen some comics where they’re quite large but generally they look like this Brainiac’s tentacles.
