How do you feel about viewing HD/BluRay/1080p movies?

I’m still on the fence about it.

I watched Hancock, Baby Momma, and 27 Dresses over the holiday and while Hancock looked cinematic for the most part, the other two were like watching a soap opera. It’s just very weird to me and takes a lot of getting used to. Also watched Smallville and it seemed like watching something right off of pre-edited video tape.

Does anyone else think it’s a little hard to watch?

I think HD is excellent for sporting events, PIXAR-style animation, and maybe network TV, but it seems to strip something from the movies that make ‘em feel like movies.

I noticed that too, they were playing POTC 3 at the Best Buy and it looked a little too clear, like you said, like watching a soap opera instead of a movie. I didn't like it at all.

I'm just happy watching the movie, I'll stick with standard DVD until I no longer have a choice.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Bah! You kids and your Blu-Rays and your telephones! In my day, we had our nickelodeon and telegraph, and that was good enough for us!

Hey, I still have a Star-TAC cell, dial-up internets, cassette tapes and a 486 PC. I just thought I’d go all out for my movies and TV viewing.

Your mad. I couldn't bring myself to watch a DVD anymore and find non-HD channels a waste of my TVs ability.

Viewing movies on Blu-ray is fantastic. So much so, I find it difficult to watch the movies I own on DVD.
