looks really good. Anyone know if the stand is mandatory for the display or if it can stand without it?

The previous ones have all needed the base, but it's possible this one won't. Depends on how it attaches to the base.

i typically agree with that sentiment, but iron man seems to be the one exception for me. I just feel like the movie designs are much more intricate and well designed.

and the fact that he swaps out armor every issue makes it much less an issue than say...spiderman for instance. I could never buy a movie batman or superman. but movie iron man? yea, i could do that. It just doesnt feel as closely tied to any specific movie.

but thats me.

Koto's site says Type: PVC, ABS, Magnet

I'm guessing the Magnet part is for the feet and the way they attach to the base. So maybe it can stand on its own.

They are well done indeed... But how many have been released? I sincerely lost count.

pretty sure its 43, soon to be 45 of em.

koto hasnt made all of them, but you can get figures of every make that's ever been glimpsed in a movie. Even all those cannon fodder models from IM3 had figures made by other companies! So if you REALLY wanted that mk 26 that was on screen for 3 seconds, its an option!

but generally, i think there have been 6-7 main revisions of the suit in the films.

That is why I don't buy movie figures.

theres a bit of a discrepancy between this and the detailing on the figuarts regarding some of the coloring on the leg panels. there are those gold strips on the rear of the thighs. i wonder who's got it right? i would assume the koto version is more accurate, but i prefer the other one.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.
