No, he (unsuccessfully) faked his own death to try to avoid paying tons of money he owed prior to their marriage and to give his son an inheritance of insurance money.

That's what I thought because I saw a dateline or some similar show about her and her life since Grease when he was still thought to be dead and she cried and she really seemed to believe he was dead. Then a while later he was found alive in Mexico or Costa Rica or someplace.
Anyway, didn't mean to get the thread off topic, just knew Jeff was married to her sister.
