I will watch this, but part of me is questioning why?
4hrs 1min seems like a long sit down.

From what i have read, the positives mostly focus on the movie making more sense, as the original was somewhat disjointed.

Two negatives that have cropped up include 'too much slow motion' possibly extending the movie by a needless 30mins
The other negative all points it being not a great movie, even if the story makes more sense.

In all honesty, i'm not hyped to see it as much as i want to see Black Widow or Suicide Squad 2, which i am super-hyped!

As soon as the Justice League "Snyder Cut" Blu-ray drops, i will be able to form an opinion.

This was way better than the original and I enjoyed every minute of it. The only thing I could have done without was the screen ratio.

I read about that. It seems like an odd choice to go with. I guess if that was the vision, it's the vision.

Stanley Kubrick's final three films, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, and Eyes Wide Shut, were composed for 1.85:1 aspect ratio (for their theatrical/cinema screenings) while still being framed for the full camera negative of Academy 1.37:1 (for home video distribution).

Kubrick was known to prefer, what i call square screen ratio, over retangle screen ratio. At the start of Eyes Wide Shut on DVD there is a message, stating the film you are about to watch is in square screen ratio. Once Kubrick passed away and Watner released the Blu-ray, they released Eye's Wide Shut in it's retangle ration to screen those with wide screen TV's happy?
I own a wide screen screen TV, but much prefer watching Eyes Wide Shut in it's square screen ratio. For starters, there is more to see

After thinking about it for some time I really think the score for these movies played a big part in me coming away with this feeling. I imagine what it would have been like if they used music that we recognize for the characters. The Donner score, a very inspirational JLA theme like the animated series. I think it would have helped me connect more.

Did anyone else prefer the previous Steppenwolf? I wasn't crazy about his original design either but I liked him looking more human than alien. He looked like Earthworm Jim in the Destroyer armor.
I go back and forth on Steppenwolf. I did like that he looked more like the comics before, but he also didn't look very threatening. Maybe if he had more character development or was more brutal in the theatrical, I would've felt differently? I think the Destroyer type armor was a little much, but somehow enjoyed his scenes more in the Snyder cut.

There is quite a bit of slow mo, but for me, it wasn't annoying. I feel a lot of the flash scenes were like this, which makes sense to me.

Yea, wasn't a big fan of the screen ratio either, but I got used to it as the movie went on. Would love to see this movie in Imax.

I finally finished this....

Yes, it's way better than the theater version... I watched it over a few days so the 4 hours didn't seem bad.. It added a lot of context to the story.

As for the 4:3 aspect ratio, it looked like crap on my computer screen but on my 85" 4k TV it didn't look that bad...

Overall I would give it 8/10 which is better than the 4/10 I gave the original version... I still think DC needs to reboot everything and ditch Snyder or only let him direct and not write...

Same here. This thing better be 16:9 on the blu ray or I’m not buying.

I loved the WW fight scene in the beginning, dont know why they cut all that out from the first version.

It showed how much she's closer to superman and watched that scene like 20 times now.

finally finished watching this, i have limited time on weekdays so had to split it up

coming from someone who overall enjoys snyders work (loved MOS, really enjoyed BVS ultimate ed., even liked suckerpunch) - id give it a 7.5/10 (for comparison id give the first version a 2/10)

obviously this was much improved but something that would never change and im not sure if any director could do any better was the sense of absolute carelessness and urgency to throw together a franchise team movie as fast as possible. aside from that my other issues were kind of nitpicky

- still dont like the JL batman suit or how affleck looks / moves in it. always felt like a downgrade from the bvs suit which was still bulky but he seemed to be able to move better in it and turn his head more

- ezra miller needs to go. i dont understand how you cast someone who runs like that as the flash and not sure whos to blame but the way he plays barry as some aloof super akward nerd really bugs me. so strange of all the current dceu cast he is the only one confirmed to return for the next round of movies

- nightmare seen was a little strange, i was really looking forward to seeing how this fit into the movie and just having it tacked onto the end made it feel like a total afterthought / fan service

- martian manhunter seemed really unnecessary and looked terrible (cgi and design)

- it was never explained why superman chose a black suit. i mean I KNOW why it was black in the comics but i dont know if it was the same reason here, or if he felt like it would absorb sunlight more being black, or he just felt like a change. without some kind of explanation just seemed like more fanservice that leaves non-comicbook readers in the dark unless i missed something

- im all for an artists vision being seen but lets be honest here, theres a lot that could have been left on the cutting room floor. the singing chicks after aquaman takes off immediately springs to mind
