Captain America was created by 2 Jewish men during the second world war to fight against Hitler and the Nazi threat. To suddenly decide that he was originally a Hydra agent, known Nazi sympathizers and hate mongers, is quite a distasteful move by Marvel and a gross insult to his origins and 75 year history. This ridiculous twist may be even worse than One More Day. To have us suddenly believe Captain America was a Nazi sympathizer all along and that his heroic battles have generally had some insidious hidden agenda is beyond asinine.

Let's kill Superman. Spiderman was Ben Reilly all along. Let's have Wolverine completely regenerate from a single drop of blood.

I know what you meant--it just sounded funny, the way it was written.
As soon as I hit submit I realized that myself lol... I assure you I'm not that ignorant. I was just surprised it wasn't one of these social justice Disney diversity changes. Hahaha

Does this mean that Red Skull was actually a US agent?

I can't see how this can be good. Breaking down the character to create a buzz and hope to sell some books seems like disrespecting his history to me.

if the Red Skull was a US Agent than the big mystery is who is the USAgent? Think about that for awhile

I'll be very surprised if this is the new status quo...they won't change Cap's history. I'll bet right now that this is part of some bigger scheme to infiltrate and eliminate Hydra.

If I was you guys, I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about this just yet.

Seems like one of 2 things to me.

1) Cap was recently brainwashed to alter his memories.

2) Basically above but someone used a reality altering item like say a Cosmic Cube to alter Cap's reality/memory on a micro scale.

I mean wasn't one old 70's or 80's story something similar with Falcon being made into a HYDRA agent? I'm thinking that's the ticket.

It's horrible but most likely the case. Then Hydra will still live at the end anyway

It sounds like RDJ from Tropic Thunder.

I could not agree more. Frankly, I'm quite surprised Disney would support such utter trash and controversy. While I'm also aware that the majority of readers could not give less of a rat's behind about the message this kind of thing sends, it still sends me this cold chill knowing Marvel editors thought this was a fabulous enough idea to shout out from the rooftops with such pride for everyone to hear.
