Agreed! The translucency was part of the appeal for sure. They do a good job of leaving enough of it on the skin while building up the paint for different tones so it has a nice, life-like quality to it. I find her likeness to have a subtlety to it that can be captured poorly on camera. Some of the promo shots almost looked bug eyed or frightened, whereas in real life it looks determined.

I did! They look pretty good together, although the bases are very different. Here's a shot from my Dining room table (their temporary home while I clear space!) so you can see what they look like.

The 1l6 figure from threezero has a much better likeness IMHO .

after looking at it more last night, the statue looks best from up high, I give likeness a 6.5/10 however the paint app and detail all around the statue is a 9.5/10 for a 1/4 statue. The skin tone on the face is incredible, the base is a work of art with the light up and killed geisha. I overall really like the statue and just ordered the geisha to go with her.

I'd place the likeness at 8.5/10 as while it is not spot on, it does a lot right.

Thought that was a Hot Toys product at first. I don't know much about threezero, but it appears to be a very good effort, although the face reminds me of another face on TV. When it comes to me, i will post

The ThreeZero figure (which I hadn't even seen!!!) looks very good. But I still love the statue. I just think it's more stylistic and interpretive than totally realistic. Which I actually really like. I totally see ScarJo in it. I also like how much personality it has, compared to the ThreeZero sculpt. I just don't like the Mtime sculpt at all. There's a harshness to it that almost looks too masculine. I can't really nail it down.

Interesting article on the Wired YouTube a out GITS VFX. Video says the pratical suit pretty was was completely digitally replaced. So was it worth Scarlet wearing a silocne body glove on set? The driector may have changed his mind about the practical suit in post.
