Arrow Fate of the Furious

Wow smashes BO records.

Went to see this myself during the week. Enjoyable enough but not as good as 6 or 7.

North America Box Office:

F8 - $100.2 million
F7 - $147 million
F6 - $97 million

Looks like the death of Paul Walker drew more crowds to previous effort than this latest endeavor.

For only a $3 million jump from 2013, makes you wonder if US crowds are growing tired of the brand?

I figured more people would see F7 since it was Paul Walkers last film.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Never seen a Fast & Furious film, doubt I ever will. Doesn't appeal to me at all.

Was reading a review and the lady said that because of it's low story, high action, dumbing down effect - it translates into exactly what people want from a cinema trip...kinda the reverse of what I want I think.

I understand the difference between popcorn fodder and serious cinema, but these films just never grabbed me.

Nah, films based around cars crashing into each other don't really do it for me.

Believe me, I know I'm in the minority here...

These films are rather formulaic and boil down to a few essentials:

1.) Fast cars
2.) Hot women
3.) Alpha males
4.) Explosions

You go into the film with this in mind, you are going to have a fun time.

I'm with you. I've never seen any of these Fast and the Furious movies and have no desire to. My Blu-ray collection is mostly indie and foreign titles--very few blockbusters outside of the Marvel Studios films.
