I would give this a go.
I received the ultimate edition for Christmas a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Saw the movie after and while i liked it the characters were a bit off from what I expected.

I'm a huge fan of The Watchmen but unless this is new material that takes place before the events in the graphic novel I doubt I'll check this out. I'm not interested in seeing the classic story retold in a different medium. To me The Watchmen movie was damn near perfect and it's one of my absolute favorite comic book films to date. Sure it took some liberties with the source material but I think they were minor and actually for the better as not everything translates well from the written page to film.

I agree with you. We already saw an R-rated Watchmen film, what's the point of it being animated?

I agree. There are a lot of properties from my youth that I'd love to see get some R-rated treatment, that haven't yet. TMNT, for example.
Watchmen's been done though - and well.
