If you "invest" in this page, you're eventually going to see it as a burden. You're constantly going to be more worried about it's value than anything, and will always think about what you COULD have purchased with that money instead.

Remember, the page only increases in value if you SELL it for more than you paid, not if it has some arbitrary or theoretical value attached to it. You also need to find that right person at the right time who actually has the $$$ to realize that gain, and that's not as easy as some people think.

LOTS of people love stuff, but not so much they're willing (or able) to pay for it. Frankly, I think paying $1000s for new pages is ridiculous.

Buy what you love, just don't break the bank. You can't live in the art, we can't all be Merry Poppins.

Exactly. If you do that you got nothing to worry about. If the art does end up appreciating in value that's a bonus but there are no guarantees.

If the market crashes tomorrow, will you still love the art and be okay with the money being gone?

Also, I find whenever I used to buy art as an investment (in part), it would be the first to go. When you need cash...it's like, hey, I have that relatively liquid wad of it in my portfolio...and it doesn't end up appreciating the way you thought [sometimes] because it was never given the time.

Well, as popular as Court of Owls was, I think Zero Year was pretty successful for Snyder & Capullo, too. This is out of my range, but it was a stand-out cover from that run and you can get it at a fraction of the price that the Capullo/Miki/Glapion covers are going for. So, I thought I'd bring it to the attention of any of you Bat collectors out there, Tony Moore's Zero Year cover for Batman #32:

Zero Year was my second favourite arc. That said, variant cover is not going to have remotely the same potential investment-wise (since this is what the OP is concerned about.)

The big take away here is, at this point, just walk away from Court of Owls stuff (or Capullo stuff in general).

Your pockets will thank you.
