Just came back from my local comic shop to pick up my weekly comics and noticed this. Udons latest book, street fighter x tekken artworks. If you're into your art books, pick this up. It's awesome!

Today is an important day fellow SF junkies!

On this very day, 25 years ago, SF made its debut!

That's right! August 30th is the Offical 25th anniversary of the SF series!

Thanks for 25 years of fun and memories!

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Jim Zubkavich (Who is a super guy) over at UDON helped me out to get in touch with Alvin Lee at the Fan Expo in Toronto. Jim requested the piece for me and Alvin agreed.

Jim then sends me an e-mail saying that Alvin didn't have time to "finish up the piece", but put me in direct contact with Alvin himself.

I then sent Alvin an e-mail to confirm his Paypal details etc. Three days later he e-mails me back saying that he doesn't take online requests and said that he'll only do commission work at shows because it takes off too much time from his pro work. I then wrote back to him, as I've been trying to get a commission of Violent Ken from him for over 5 years now. I poured my heart and soul into that e-mail, thinking he would reconsider seeing how devoted to UDON I was. He shot me back a one line e-mail ending with "hopefully it will one day all work out for you".

So my question is, why the heck did he even bother to tell Jim to put us in touch only to crush my dreams? Very, very sad as he was my art idol for so long, but seems to be somewhat of an arrogant artist thats lost touch with his fans. Unfortunately, this type of attitude is a trend amoung artists these days. If Jim Lee can find time to do commissions, I don't see how Alvin Lee cant. Sad.

Yupp, I know I'm a buzzkill, but venting to my fellow SF fans might make me feel a little better lol.
I'm sorry to hear that Alpha...I love alvin lee's art....His Art is a great influence in my style of drawing....I say keep on emailing him...Hopefully he'll see that you're determined...try emailing him thru his deviant...Alvinlee

Wow. Alvin lee is actually my fav udon/street fighter artist. Spoken directly to him a few times on twitter and Facebook. He was very happy that I have my walls plastered with his artwork. Ive never asked for a commission by him as they're just too expensive, but I'm hoping I'll see him next year and get a commission done.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles dude. That Jim need to apologise to you for wasting your time. Damn...

Wow, so sorry to hear that your commission went down like that. I'd be crushed too, Alvin has always been my favorite Udon/SF artist.

But I've actually started to favor Joe NG over the last few years.

And of course the GREAT Ed Mcguinness. I own one of his pages!!!!
