I just hate any statue with a pole unless the pole is supposed to be there. Like a stripper statue or something.

The rod could be cut to just a little below her foot so when inserted into the base her toes just touch the base and the rod can't be seen.

I feel the same way. The sight of the pole always throws me off. Or it looks like they're being impaled. The hardest one to pass up was the Superman Lois Lane Designer Series, I thought that was a great piece.
